What MyBrainn does

MyBrainn records voice notes, transcribes them locally on your iPhone, and saves Markdown notes and audio files to your device or a folder you choose.

Common questions

Where are my files saved?

Locally inside the app and, if export is enabled, to the destination you choose in Settings. A good default is iCloud Drive/MyBrainn/Inbox.

Does MyBrainn upload my audio?

No. Transcription runs on your device, and recordings and transcripts are not uploaded to developer-owned servers.

Why can't I select Google Drive for automatic export?

Some Files providers allow manual sharing but do not grant third-party apps reliable write access for automatic folder export. If a provider blocks automatic export, use manual sharing or choose iCloud Drive / On My iPhone.

Why do I need microphone permission?

Microphone access is required to record voice notes for local transcription and storage.

How do I use the Action Button or Shortcuts?

Open Settings in MyBrainn and review the Lock Screen & Shortcuts section. You can connect MyBrainn actions to Shortcuts, Siri, Back Tap, Control Center, and the Action Button on supported iPhones.

Troubleshooting

• Confirm microphone permission is enabled in iOS Settings.
• Confirm the selected export folder is writable.
• Keep the app open for the first local transcription after installing the speech model.
• If export fails, the original audio remains local and can be retried from the app.
